Description
***Auqa Blue Ice Tourmaline*** ((( Double Terminated Floater ))) ~~ Superb Stepped & Terraced Cluster ~~ *With Botryoidal Tourmaline & Feldspar* *Paprok Nuristan Province* "Afghanistan" 2-7/8" inches tall x 1" x 1" inches wide 7cm x 2.5cm x 2.5 cm 52 Grams - 260 Carats This extremly rare pale auqa blue tourmaline cluster from Paprok Afghanistan consist of about a dozen good size flat topped glassy crystals in a stepped and terraced formation with a dozen or more smaller crystals around the bottom half.  Colorless crystal is said to be the rarest occurance of tourmaline, however I've seen quite a few of those.  The coloration of this tourmaline ranges from pale aquamarine blue to practically colorless with just a hint of blue and is the only one I've ever seen this color and is probably a one of a kind crystal. In addition the bottom half features a patch of small botryoidal (bumpy) tourmaline on one side with a superficial coating of white feldspar, the exposed botryoidal portions appear to have a yellowish/beige tinge.  Other than pink mushroom capped tourmaline from Burma botryoidal tourmaline habits are a rarity and in combination with conventional tourmaline are doubly rare.  Completing the crystal the bottom end displays a series of complex multiple terminations with a pale green coloration and has a coating of white feldspar as well.    The crystal is an absolute double multi terminated three color zoned floater (4 zones counting colorless) with no contact point and all the terminations are eye perfect with no damage, repairs or breakage and could be one of the crowning jewels of any collection.   Photographed In Full Sunlight - No Enhancements    Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
