Description 18 pages of scrapbook material that belonged to a soldier stationed in Germany in 1951 at the beginnings of the Cold War. Loaded with letters from home, and to his relatives back home in the states, wherein he describes the situation in that part of Europe after the tensions of the occupation and the aftermath of the Berlin Airlift. Also included are numerous travel brochures from places he visited in Europe, including Berchtesgaden, Vienna, Paris, Amsterdam, and many other locals. The items within the scrapbook are all in pretty good shape, although they have been glued to the pages of the scrapbook and will probably need some careful attention to be removed from the pages. The scrapbook itself has long ago disintegrated due to the poor paper used in most scrapbooks from this era, so only the pages remain, and they are becoming brittle.
