Hair Receiver, International, c.1915' Description 7 South Antiques This is a sterling topped, hair receiver with a lovely, hand engraved decoration and made by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. c.1915. Their knight's helm, shield and S trademark and "Sterling C583" are stamped on the edge (please see photo 5). Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. was one of International's, founding companies. The jar measures 2 1/2" tall by, roughly, 4 1/2" in diameter and is monogrammed "M.K.W." on the side of the top. The interior of the top is gilt, though the gilding is pale at this point. The cover fits snugly. There are four, tiny, shallow dents in it, which are more easily detectable from the interior. The rim of the heavy, crystal base is lightly polished and beveled on both edges. The crystal jar is cut with rounded , concave panels and a rayed base. The are a couple of tiny nicks on two of the panel junctions and a faint, thin line that looks like a thin scratch, that runs around the interior about a third of the way up. On the whole, the jar and top are in very good condition.
