The menorah with the white background is an 18th century example that went up for auction on March 23, 2004 in New York City. Notice the $20,000 - $30,000 estimate. Then on October 15, 2007 a 19th century example (like mine), SOLD at the same auction house in NYC for almost $20,000 (the hammer price was $15,000, plus 20% buyers commission and 8.375% New York sales tax, so the winner of the menorah paid over $19,500).As some of you know, Italian Judaica always sells well at auction in the past few years, its considered "hot".
