MANY THANKS FOR LOOKING EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS TO creativemodels@hotmail.com   NOW THE HISTORY OF THIS CARRIAGE - This history is taken from the original documentation with the Landau:   Similar to the Edward VII Road Landau at the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, being almost identical in size and is painted in similar colours without the Royal Coat of arms. It was built by W J Frecklington of Australia in 1982 and has never been used. Mr Frecklington is a former employee of The Royal Household in London, the manager of The Royal Coaches Exhibition to commemorate the Silver Jubilee, and builder of Her Majesty's new State Coach to commemorate the Bi Centenary of Australia (this being the State Coach Her Majesty The Queen used to open Parliament in London late last year) The Landau has an aluminium body, in common with the new State Coach, to prevent cracking, on a wooden perch undercarriage with C-spring suspension and rubber tyres. It weighs approximately 1 1/4 tons and can be drawn by a 4 or 6 horse postillion team. We understand an open carriage such as this has never been made anywhere in the world since Hoopers of London built the Postillion Landau for King edward VII in 1902, and it is highly unlikely another Postillion Landau of this calibre will be made in the future.
