ANTIQUE NEW YORK ESTATE SILVERPLATED REPOUSSE COMPACT Start Price USD 85.99 Current Price USD 85.99 Time Left - Bid Count 1 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, November 29, 2008 End Time Saturday, December 06, 2008 Location Niceville, FL See more about 'ANTIQUE NEW YORK ESTATE SILVERPLATED REPOUSSE COMPACT' Description EXQUISITE ANTIQUE NEW YORK ESTATE ART NOUVEAU REPOUSSE SILVERPLATED VANITY COMPACT ELABORATELY DETAILED WITH FLORAL REPOUSSE SCROLLWORK DESIGN FEATURING AN ELABORATE SWIRL CLASP CLOSURE  EXTREMELY SCARCE WITH NO RESERVE Exquisite in beauty and design.  This vintage Ladies Repousse Floral Design Silver Compact is simply elegant and was recently purchased from an affluent estate in New York City.   The estate had it listed as extremely RARE Art Nouveau Silver Repousse Compact Necessaire circa 1930's.  The silver compact is in wonderful antique condition with no chips or flakes to the vintage silver plating.  The estate had it listed as silver, but as I see no hallmarks or markings I can't say it is Sterling Silver, as I haven't had it tested.  The elaborately designed Repousse Floral design on the front and back exterior of the compact is quite lovely and the Designs are quite intricate and elaborate.  The front and back exteriors of the silver compact each have a blank cartouche in the center of the floral repousse design which may be engraved with your intials if you please.    Very ornate Art Nouveau personal Ladies Silver vanity compact necessaire.  In near pristine condition with the exception of some tarnishing to the vintage silver which should be easily cleaned with a good silver polish.  No powder remains in the compact.  The mirror inside, though intact and unbroken, does not appear to be the original.  It seems to me that the mirror was added later, possibly because the original miror was broken at some point.  No maker markings or hallmarks that I notice.
