Description
1)  It is an antique bar with exquisite cut crystal glasses and pitcher.  Stunning!  2)  It is an antique windup music box. 3)  It is an 1880's vintage antique wall telephone design - not a working phone.  It appears to be contemporary to that era although I don't know for certain. The bar ware features spectacular cut crystal.  It still has three of the original small drinking glasses, which feature spectacular design work, and comes with handles.   The cut crystal decanter with the top has some cracking in the neck but is intact and appears to be still functional.  The wood is beautifully finished and appears to be original.  The wood may be mahogany.  The wall phone appearance features a knob that turns to make the bells ring.  When wound up from the bottom of the phone, and the receiver is removed from the hook, the music plays until the end and the doors pop open. That's how it works:  when the music stops, the bar automatically pops open!  Quite an antique! The vintage look, the cut crystal and the overall presentation of this piece is remarkable. The piece appears to be from the late 1880's to the 1890's.  The two songs are listed on a label above the "MADE IN AUSTRIA" imprint in the wood.  The second song below was written in 1882 and this piece appears to be some period just after that.  These are not my two favorite songs, so I don't know if the music box plays them properly.  It does play well and the doors pop open every time.  The label on the back reads: "2 AIRS 1.  SWEET VIOLETS WALTZ 2.  FULL MOON UNION"     The piece is 25" from the top of the brass hooks to the bottom of the receiver, which is simply a very well done wooden faux representation.   Here is a picture of the inner music box mechanism.   This is marked on the back MADE IN AUSTRIA.
