Save Green. Go Antiques! A classic and charming antique toy. This handsome old Victorian bank is just in time for gifting a practical youngster or budding collector. Exceptional details. The bank was made from cast iron and probably sometime around 1850 to 1870. Well loved and probably used by several generations. The bank was originally painted red; at some point it was painted a grayish bayberry color. The from is a two story building with steps in front and cupola on top. Above the stoop roof and arched door the word BANK was impressed. There is a metal rod running from the cupola roof to the bottom. Roof can be unswered and lifts off. Measures 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" across the roof, the base is 2 3/4" x 3 /2" and stands about 5 1/4" high. Chippy paint with crazing as you can see and traces of red can still be seen. Bottom rusting on metal surface. Bidding starts at $150 with no reserve.
