See more about 'ARTS AND CRAFTS ART NOUVEAU INK WELL original china cup' Description   Near Perfect ConditionSame Business Day Shipmentfor ChristmasSo, I am getting married -- again -- and Marcia and I just do not have enough spaaaace for all our combined schtufffff.  Something has got to go.  Actually, some things have got to go.This auction is for very old art nouveau, arts and crafts type ink well.  It measures about 5 1/4" x 6 1/2".  The lid to the well opens easily; the porcelain cup within has no chips or cracks.  That lid, by the way, seems to be a stylized lady bug eating at a flower.  The lower pen tray has the image of a butterfly.All of these design features have been cast within the body of this brass ink well, then hand-painted in earth tone colors and blessed with years and years of undisturbed patina that only long decades can achieve.  About 100 years old and counting.The only marking is the word "cesci utz" or maybe "cescputz".  That word was stamped into the reverse side when this item was cast.You will have to search for a long, long time to find one this old in this condition.Beyond Beautiful ...
