Description
Search AUTHENTIC DAZEY BUTTER CHURN 4Q FLOWER BOTTOM PRIMITIVE Welcome to my auction. Please read the entire auction. This is an Authentic Original Complete Dazey Butter Churn. I am a collector and am letting go of some of the finest from my private collection to make room for other things.   Ladies and Gentlemen, before we begin, I want to direct you to a guide I have provided titled, "Dazey Butter Churns - A Guide To Finding An Original".     Click on my, "Top 5000 Reviewer".     Please read this before you bid on ANY Dazey Butter Churn.  Now, I did not write this research but I have written permission from the researchers to use their material here.  Please remember it is copywrited.   Did you read it?   Did you remember to vote for my guide?   Good! Now, let's talk about this authentic and original Dazey Butter Churn I want you to bid on.   Folks, we've noticed alot of sellers are using our information, that's fine.  What is NOT fine is that they are also using our photos to sell their churn.  These photos are copywrited and by using them, they are breaking the law.  AND, they are misrepresenting their item.   This one doesn't look have been used at all.    Circa 1922 This jar reads, "DAZEY CHURN, NO 40, PATENTED FEB 14 22".  On the bottom it reads, "DAZEY CHURN & MFG . CO., ST. LOUIS , MO., MADE IN U.S.A".  Some light roughness on the inside of jar neck. This is one of the nicest tops I have.   Most of the original galvanizing is still on this one.  Notice the bright and shiny inside.  This couldn't have been used much for the inside to be so shiny.   There's no accumulation of dust or grime around the feet or gears or on the gear teeth like so many have, very clean.  Did you see the wood handle?  This handle still has most of the original black paint, not dried out and rough like most.  The paddles are nearly perfect, no signs of use at all, no residual cream stains.  This top is embossed with, "DAZEY" on the top of the assembly.  We have the Dazey emblem.  The handle is embossed with 30-40H, 34B on the frame near the handle, 34G on the large gear spoke.  The inside lid is not cracked aroung the rivets.   Everything is perfectly functional on this churn.  Everything works wonderfully, the paddles are tight and turn smoothly.  The gears are in perfect working order.    Please study the pictures closely.      A fine piece of American history don't you think?   Someone asked if I retouch my churns.  NO, NO, NO!!!  I have never retouched in the least little bit.    I clean the jars and tops and oil the tops to prevent rust.  I have never sanded, filed, blasted, PAINTED, (BLASPHEMY), or torchured the poor helpless things in any way.   All of my churns are in their natural state.  Folks, 80% of the Dazey churns sold on Ebay are fake.  It amazes me that people will pay a lot of money for an obvious fake, especially when my quide displays whenever you search for a butter churn.  People!   Read my guide.   A few points to remember: Since the patent FEB 14 22 pertained to  the removable whey screen that we're all familiar with, you should never see a top with this screen on an unembossed jar or on a bullseye.  Likewise, you should never see any other top other than this one with the patented removable screen on  a jar bearing the patent date. You should never see this type of gear assembly, (top) on a round, bulbous jar.  The round, bulbous jars are the later version of Dazey and should only have the red top, football version top. The only metal paddles Dazey made were on the red top, football versions. Dazey never made a churn smaller than 1 quart.  Pint, half pint, child's and salesmen's samples are repros. Dazey never made a cup shaped whey screen, that is an Elgen, Sears or Wards.  The only screens Dazey made were the raised oval shaped screen, (rare), the patented removable screen that we're most familiar with and the kidney shaped screen on the red tops. The bullseye jar embossing is difficult to distinguish from a reproduction.  Dazey made two types of these and will somewhat read: 1.  Dazey Churn & MFG. CO.  Made in ST. Louis. U.S.A. 2.  There may be a banner on the bottom with Made in ST. Louis. U.S.A.  Note - The reproductions have this banner also - be careful. If the lettering seems overly large, be suspicious. If the lettering is fine and clear, it's a pretty safe bet it's an original.   Ask questions.  A lot of what I'm seeing are mixed parts.  A Dazey jar with another makers top, or a Dazey top with another maker jar, or the football, (later version of Dazey) top with an older Dazey jar being sold as a whole Dazey butter churn.  This is not saying that anyone is being dishonest.  It takes a lot of experience and knowledge to know what you have.  And of course we're all seeing the reproductions.  But we all know what the repros are don't we? I hope this has been helpful to you.  Please remember to vote for my guide.  Also remember to bid for my Original Dazey Butter Churn too. There are also other very good information sources on the internet for Butter Churns.  I encourage you to seek those sources before you buy.  Always be informed! You never know what I'll come up with next. So check back often. I want everyone to enjoy their experience on Ebay and my auctions. Please don't hesitate to contact me with a question, comment or just to say Howdy. I love to meet people from all over the world and have made many friends. I purchase the items I sell mostly from estate sales. They are mostly vintage or used and therefore they may or may not have small minor defects not noted in the description. This oversight is not intentional and does not detract from the overall beauty or usefulness or I would not be selling it. I do this for fun and of course for extra cash. I research every single item I sell as well as I can. I am not an expert but I have accumulated a lot of knowledge. It is not my intention to misrepresent any item. THAT IS WHY I ENCOURAGE EACH OF YOU TO CONDUCT YOUR OWN RESEARCH. I have faithfully and accurately described this item to the best of my ability. Please ask questions before bidding. If you are not happy for whatever reason, PLEASE, do not leave neutral or negative feedback, instead, contact me and I will do everything I can to work with you.
