But if you prefer bright metal, it will shine up with very little effort. I don't know it's exact age,possibly pre prohibition? The boiler is copper with a threaded brass top cap for a tight seal. I filled the boiler to the top with 6 gallons of water for 2 days, it is water tight. The boiler has no dents and is in excellent condition. The copper tube that runs from the boiler to the galvanized condensing pail has brass unions on both ends, with good threads for a tight seal. The condensing pail has the  copper evaporating coil in it with the drip tube on the bottom of the pail and an overflow tube on the top. The evaporating coil drip tube has come unsoldered from the pail-real easy fix. This is by far the nicest moonshine still you will ever find. I guarantee this still is an original antique and not a reproduction. All that is needed to be put to work is a good recipe, it is a fuctional working still.
