Description
watchclockgo Store Creedmoor Mechanical Bank The Creedmoor mechanical bank shown is in fine working condition with good original paint, as shown. It was patented in 1877 by James Bowen. When the slide is pushed back the man’s head moves down as if taking aim. I tried a penny more than once and it shoots straight in when the toe of the man’s right shoe is pressed. When the coin is shot it rings a bell and the man’s head moves back up. I can see where, as has been mentioned in other copy, a paper cap placed in the right position could be fired at the same time by the hammer-like metal piece which hits the inside front of the cape when the toe is pressed. The only fault I can see is that the cover at the bottom of the bank to keep the coins is missing. I understand that these or good reproductions are around. As far as I can see, this bank is otherwise complete and original. The shooter has a black cap with a red stripe. He seems to have a black jacket with a red belt and gold buttons. The pants are red and the shoes are black. The tree trunk is brown. The ground is green with flecks of red and yellow. The cape looks like it may have been a dark green-brown. Paint is off the cape. The hands and face are flesh tone. The moustache and hair are black. If more pictures are desired, anything of importance has been overlooked or you have information to contribute, please don’t hesitate to make contact.
