These old cookie jars are made of antique white porcelain and with color accents. They have a lot of crazing which is a direct indication of their age. The little boys hair is blond but some of the yellow paint is missing. There is still enough to indicate that his hair is blond. He is holding a red sailboat in his arms to float on the river. His buttons are brown, his lips red and his eyes black. He has the traditional old fashioned Dutch outfit of days gone by. The wee girl has blue eyes and jumper, a tulip belt and she also has blond hair. She sports a traditional Dutch costume and she is in fine condition. The inside of these are a little crazed and mottled with age spots but for their age they are in fantastic shape. The bottom is stamped with the makers name (which we can't read) and USA. The stature of these pieces are chubby and round, and you fall in love with them right away. With their chubby cheeks, sturdy little bodies and fetching eyes, they make quite an endearing picture. Picture these vintage cookie jars on your counter or shelf. These are a must have for the collector and a great addition to any kitchen decor. The little Dutch Boy measures 13" high and 8" across the widest point. The little Dutch Girl measures the same. This set weighs 8.8 pounds together.
