For auction here is a rare Antique Edison Phonograph machine with Horn.  The Model E was manufactured in the early 1900's when Edison's cylinder phonograph technology was at its peak.  These machines are highly sought after and are great additions to any antique collection.  This one includes the original horn as shown.  The horn is 29" long with a 14" bell diameter.  The way that the horn suspends from the unit is interesting in that it looks like it prevents unwanted vibrations from the unit.  As acquired, there was no original wire or string to attach the horn, so we used a small length of very flexible wire to suspend the horn from the metal hook.  The wire and white metal hook will be included.  The machine itself includes the original cover and handcrank.  The part that attaches the horn to the machine does not appear to be original, as it is simply a small right angled pipe.  We have attempted to test this machine, but upon turning the crank, the unit does not function.  We think it is a simple fix of the gears on the inside, but because we are not experts on antiques such as this, we will leave this for the new owner to repair.  S/N: 810720.  We have taken lots of pictures, so please view them carefully.On Nov-17-08 at 22:04:43 PST, seller added the following information: Your browser does not support JavaScript.
