This quilt is hand stitched with loving care. It was hand made by my Great Grandmother. (who raised 13 children) Close as we can estimate the age of this quilt it's 80 to 100 years old. She went blind somehere around 1940, and this is the last quilt she ever made. It is near mint condition, and has never been used. It has been rolled and placed in an appropriate cover, and stored in my cedar chest.There are no stains, the colors are vibrant(especially the cobalt blue background), and alive with family history. In each bit of diamond shaped cloth, there is a story,  a memory.... Each piece of cloth is from family members, my great aunt's favorite apron or dress, my mom or aunt's out grown clothes, on and on....There is a small area on the bottom corner where the thread has come loose. It looks to me to be a easy repair, but I have no skills with a needle and thread. I would rather pass it on to someone with quilting skills, who will know how to repair it seamlessly. It measures 68 inches x 78 inches and weighs 5.9 pounds. I have shown the area in question, it's the 5th photo in the lineup. The photo's don't even begin to show it's real beauty.
