When the lira was replaced by the euro, the Ultima Lira (last lira) was created and presented to the great state institutions during a ceremony marking the passage. Named for the Italian politician, economist, and first President of the Italian Republic (1948-1955) Luigi Einaudi, Visconti's limited edition has a black lucite cap and end section with an embossed, carved and engraved 925 sterling silver body. Italian lira symbols are engraved in a bas-relief effect. The double reservoir power-filler system features a window so you may view your ink levels. Silver-plated appointments complement the bi-color rhodium-plated 18K gold nib. The edition is finished with a gold lira coin set into the cap head.
