Description
Silver Plate with Figural Rooster Cocktail ShakerbyBernard Rice & Sons Inc.You are bidding on a stately, highly-collectible cocktail shaker by Bernard Rice and Sons Inc. Measures 14 inches tall. The finial is a figural rooster on the top cap. This is one of those highly sought after shakers that is extremely rare and hard to find!I’m a passionate cocktail shaker collector. I've decided to release a portion of my collection so others can fortify their collection with truly unique and rare shakers. Over the past two decades, I have amassed a colossal assortment of highly collectible cocktail shakers, most of which are flawless and extremely rare. Astute collectors often scour antique and thrift shops and estate and garage sales for years to find these extraordinary pieces. Sizeable, premium collections of cocktail shakers and barware, such as the one I have listed on ebay, are real mother lodes! Click on the "View seller's other items" link and seize this opportunity to start your own collection or to fortify you current collection. Although I will not offer combined purchase discounts, I will combine shipping to save you money. The condition of this shaker is excellent. I've included photos of both sides so you can assess the condition. No dents or warping. I am sad to say that the pour spout cap is missing. The lid fits securely and is easy to remove/replace. The patina is uniform and beautiful! It is rare to find this cocktail shaker in such excellent condition!Stamped on the bottom:Apolo E.P.N.S.Made ByBernard Rice's Sons, Inc.5477 | 2"E.P.N.S." stands for Electroplated Nickle Silver which was a predecessor to chrome plating. This cocktail shaker is featured on page 21 of "Vintage Barware Identification & Value Guide" by Stephen Visakay (1997). It was valued at $175-$225 10+ years ago when this book was published. Assuming 4% annual inflation, today's value would be $270-$350. Due to the scarcity of this cocktail shaker, I would argue that the value has inflated at a much greater rate than 4%! This is a very hard to find cocktail shaker. This item will ship within 48-hours of receipt of payment. Insurance is optional and recommended as the seller is not responsible for damage that occurs in transit. If ground delivery is chosen by buyer, seller has option of using either DHL or UPS for ground shipping. Although I will not offer combined purchase discounts, I will combine shipping to save you money on multiple purchases if they are all purchased and paid within 24 hours of eachother.U.S. bidders only please. No shipping outside the U.S.  _gsrx_vers_236 (GS 5.0.3 (236))
