We recently purchased this new & unused MARINER STAR Quilt at a local benefit sale from the Amish community in Lancaster County, PA. This quilt is skillfully pieced and shows amazing attention to detail with the precise piecing of the star points. It is all hand-quilted with straight line & fancy quilting along the borders, stars, and in the background; with some faint pencil lines still visible. These patterns have been marked in pencil for the quilter and these faint pencil lines usually disappear during the quilt's first washing. Seeing these pencil lines are a good thing as they confirm the authenticity and integrity of all hand quilting. The straight edge border of this quilt is finished with a 1/4" solid blue trim which is hand-sewn on the backside; which is also the same soft white cotton as the front. The size is a generous 107" wide x 115" long, which fits on a queen and would probably work on a king, but please be sure to check your measurements. The detail on this quilt is incredible, so please take time to view all the photos - I have tried to capture the true beauty of this lovely quilt.
