Gur Arieh, Jerusalem, Palestine 1920. Extremely rare and highly important Bezalel terracotta plaque, Hora dancing scene after a painting by Meir Gur Arieh, Jerusalem, Palestine, Ca 1920. Depicting Zionist pioneers dancing the famous Israeli round dance – Hora. Terracotta, brass, wood, cast (terracotta plaque) etched (brass sheet), painted (wood), riveted (brass frame). In four corners of the brass frame stylized naturalistic seven light Menorahs    Etched in the corners: "Bezalel" and "Yerushalem". Impressed with Gur Arieh mark at the lower left corner of the terracotta plaque. Participated in the famous "Tower of David" Exhibition. 1920 A founder of the Union for Hebrew Art. Died 1951. The Bezalel school was founded in 1906 by Boris Schatz, who shaped its character. His approach stressed both the practical and the ideal. His vision was to develop useful arts and crafts among Palestinian Jews, thereby decreasing the dependence on charity.
