This lantern works on any sort of kerosene liquid gas....it has a wick that moves up and down with an adjustable knob. I bought this a few years back from a artist who handcrafts brass lanterns from scratch....it cost me a few bucks for this lantern..actually quite a few $$$ were spent on this lantern...it would look good in any outside patio and it does a little bit of a job, helping to keep the bugs away....I have not cleaned this lantern up with brass cleaner...if you were to clean it up it would shine again.......the lantern measures 15" in height and the diameter is 6.5" on each side...there is a brass ring on top so you could hang this lantern if you want or you can just place it on any flat surface such as a patio table......
