Nine women players are shown in the image. In the margins of the mat around the image a number of informative things are printed in red which is faded. In the left margin is printed: "W. S. Franklin, Manager." Across the top in the margin is printed: "Young Ladies' Base Ball Club No. 1." In the right margin is printed: "Season of 1890 & 1891." Across the bottom is printed in the margin: "Effie Earl S.S., Edith Mavues S. B., Alice Lee, L. F., Rose Mitchell, R. F., Angie Parker, 2 B, May Howard, Cap and P, Annie Grant, C. F., Kittie Grant, 1 B, Nellie Williams, C."All wear striped skirted uniforms with bows at their necks, caps, and dark stockings. One holds a bat. A baseball is on the floor in the foreground. There is light soiling to the mat. In the center of the bottom edge there is a tiny break as though the cabinet had rested on a pin at that point and the pin had made a notch in the edge. The photo's condition is shown in the accompanying picture. There is a 1 3/8" wrinkle on the back of the mount but this is not at all visible on the front and does not affect the front of the cabinet and the image at all.This is one of our alltime favorite vintage images of any type that we have ever had.
