Description
I have thousands of insulators but this is the best one I've found. It came off of an old Rio Grande RR line. I can't tell without braking it open, but it looks like it has a piece of jewlery inside. As far as I can tell, it looks like a 5 dollar gold piece watch fob. All drip points are perfect but has about five very small chips. There is a stress crack about a half inch long right at what looks like the gold coin. This is probably from the tempature difference when the sun would hit the gold piece. This is an aqua colored insalator. I have not cleaned it because it looks like the gold is exposed in the threads and I don't want to take a chance on the chemicals doing any damage. On Nov-26-08 at 08:40:34 PST, seller added the following information:This is a hemingray no. 40On Nov-27-08 at 14:21:24 PST, seller added the following information:I have some more pics. but can't get them on my listing. I can send to email. On Nov-27-08 at 21:08:44 PST, seller added the following information:Hope these help. the crack starts on the top and comes down to the object and branches over to the left. It stops right on the edgeof the circle. Also you can see the straight line to the right of the circle. I think this is where the chain links hook. One chain link is laying at the top of the line, the other is at the middle of the line.On Nov-28-08 at 14:36:39 PST, seller added the following information:nsl8r, I can't find your contact info to send you pics. I don't think it is a bottle cap because of the chain links. Also a magnet sticks better to the side of the coin than it does where the coin is. Therefore this should mean the coin is nonmatelic.
