The centre of the 'ashpan' has a minature half section of brown glazed pipe across it. This is surrounded by a raised octagonal shape of pale blue/grey glaze with two indents to support cigarettes Around the edge, which is a lovely blue mottled glaze, is the wording - 'DOULTON'S GLAZED STONEWARE PIPES' It is stamped underneath, in an unglazed area (see pale area in photo) 'DOULTON, LAMBETH, ENGLAND' Size is 4&3/8" (110mm) diameter by 1&1/4" (35mm) tall Condition I would describe as very good, with only one chip to the underside edge, this just manages to show itself when the ashtray is viewed from the side, please see photos showing this to be the case .
